7 bad habits that make your teeth quickly broken
The mouth is the entrance of the body, so the dental condition greatly affects your health. Dental care is a necessary job for every person. However, most people do not really take proper oral care. Therefore, you should avoid the following bad habits for healthy teeth.
1. Consuming lots of dark food
Dark drinks like coffee, red wine, and black tea contain ingredients called tannins. They cause colored compounds to stick to your teeth, making them stain easily. Foods like berries (raspberries, blueberries, and cherries), tomatoes, seeds, and candies can also lead to tooth discoloration.
2. Brushing your teeth in a wrong way
Do not brush your teeth too hard as this may damage the teeth and gums, leading to tooth sensitivity. You should brush your teeth from left to right in a circular motion with enough force. You should brush your teeth for about 2 minutes and make sure to reach the most difficult access.
Do not brush your teeth immediately after eating. Acid-containing foods can weaken tooth enamel, so brushing your teeth can damage the enamel, causing the acid to go deeper into the teeth. Also, you should replace the brush at least every 3 to 4 months for best results.
3. Using your teeth to open the bottle
Using your teeth as a tool to open beer bottles or cut clothing stamps can be very convenient. However, this action is definitely not good for the teeth because they can cause fractures or chipping.
4. Biting hard objects
Biting your nails with your teeth can damage the gums, which can cause chipping and damage. The habit of biting a pen or other hard object can also cause the same effect. Gritting your teeth can cause jaw problems and even change the shape of your jawbone.
5. Flossing your teeth improperly
Flossing can help remove food particles and plaque, preventing gum disease. However, some users floss improperly, causing plaque to be pushed down deeper. Another mistake is to floss with reciprocating motion like a saw, causing gums to hurt.
6. Snacking often
If you snack frequently, the acid in food will constantly come into contact with your teeth and destroy tooth enamel, causing tooth decay.
7. Teeth whitening improperly or too often
The safest way to whiten your teeth is to seek a qualified dentist. If you voluntarily use a whitening product, you need to learn thoroughly and follow the instructions, it is best to consult a dentist. Otherwise, you may experience allergies, causing problems that damage the teeth and gums.
